OUR RANGE OF SERVICES
FIRSTLY, HOW
MUCH DOES A NEW GARDEN COST?
A complete
redevelopment of flat square garden with
standard landscaping, including
planting, will generally cost
around £85 per square
meter to build and
install. Sloped
gardens, those with
restricted access or
those requiring more
complex or bespoke
constructions will
inevitably cost more: high-end
design and landscaping
can cost £150-200 or
more per square meter.
Another
common guide is to
allocate around 10% of
your property value to
landscaping works: this
is normally spread
between front and back
gardens.
The
design and planning of
the project will
typically cost around
8-12% of a budget which
assumes inclusion of
relevant labour costs.
To get a
rough idea of your
garden size you can
enter your postcode in
this map search and then

your property line:

CONSULTATION
(designer finds out
what client wants)
WHO: Everybody
looking at developing
all or part of their
garden space.
WHERE: We
visit clients on site
in the Central Scotland
area; for clients
elsewhere in the UK
we send a
questionnaire and
request a photographic/video
inventory; we then conduct a
Skype video conference
so that the client and
designer can meet virtually.
WHAT: A chat over a cup
of tea and a walk around
the existing garden; the
designer will then issue
a report with
recommendations and
proposals for
development and a
projection of estimated
costs.
WHY: The
designer knows how to
make what you want look
fantastic and give you
value for money!
WHEN: At
least 2 months prior to
any anticipated project
start.
HOW MUCH:
Consultations
start from £30 for local
call-outs.

SITE
SURVEY
(designer and client
get to see site outlay
in preparation of plan)
WHO:
Everybody
approaching a
landscaping project.
WHERE: Available
directly
in Central Scotland,
elsewhere in UK we select
local-to-site third
party chartered
surveyors who bill the
client directly and send
us a copy of all files
pertaining to the site.
WHAT: Measurements, levels,
site conditions,
photographs and notes of
prominent plants,
shrubs, and trees are
recorded. All images are then
collated and emailed to
the client, measurement
data is formatted and is
supplied in either .PRO,
.DWG, .DXF or .PDF file
formats along with a
full written
report of site.
WHY: The survey
enables all parties to
make informed decisions
on budgets and explore
potential layout plans.
WHEN: Shortly
after the consultation.
HOW MUCH:
£1.00 per square
meter of site area up to
50 square meters and
£0.50 per square meter
thereafter. Bare plot
surveys (eg a newly
built property garden)
cost just £0.40 per
square meter.
[We
devolve surveys of very
large or complex sites
to selected third party
chartered surveyors who
bill the client directly
and send us a copy of
all files pertaining to
the site.]

SMALL PROJECT PLAN
(wee gardens or parts
of gardens)
WHO: Anybody
with a small
garden, tight budget or
simple project in mind.
WHERE: Available
throughout UK
WHAT: Basic
CAD drawings demonstrate an overhead
plan layout of the
proposed elements.
A brief written
description detailing
layout decisions and
material suggestions and a
written quotation of
costs.
WHY:
Sometimes the budget or
project size doesn't
justify the full design
application; this way we
can appeal to all sizes
of project!
WHEN: After a
consultation (sometimes
a survey will also be
required).
HOW MUCH:
This
service will generally
cost between
£2-5 per square
meter depending upon
site area and the
project nature (decking
plans require more
detail than a patio
layout for instance).
There is a minimum fee
of £100.

An
example of a basic
drawing, supplied to
scale in .PDF format.

FULL
GARDEN DESIGN
(where the designer
really impresses the
client)
WHO:
Everybody looking to get
the most out of their
outdoor space.
WHERE: Available
throughout UK
WHAT: This
is delivered in 2
stages: Concept
Outline and
Final
Drawings and
Presentation:
CONCEPT OUTLINE:
The
designer collates
previous information and
devises a creative
vision for the new
garden space. A mood
board, written proposal
and plan
sketch or loose CAD plan
communicate visual and
functional ideas on how the space
will be utilised.
The client
offers feedback and a
critique on the
proposals and from this
dialogue the final
concept can be decided.
FINAL DRAWINGS AND
PRESENTATION:
The
designer produces the
formal design and set of
plan drawings: a video presentation
video demonstrates the physical
build of the new garden
through a series of 3D
colour perspective images.
Also
produced are scale plans detailing
the excavation areas and
levels, the drainage
system layout (if
applicable), the
elemental design layout, the construction
drawings, and the
planting schedule. A
complimentary lighting plan
can be produced after
collaboration and
discussion between the
designer, client and
electrician. These
drawings are normally supplied in
.PDF format.
WHY: The only
way to visualise your
dream garden before a
spade hits the ground!
WHEN: After a
consultation and
completed survey report.
HOW MUCH:
Full Garden
Designs start from £400:
a 50% deposit is
taken as commission
confirmation. The
remaining 50% is paid
upon completion of the
design work.
